02 FROM THE CDEIO I n the last issue, we introduced you to the DEI team. Since then, we’ve added four new team members, each of whom brings unique skills and expertise to our strategy and action plan. ∙ Anna Sebastian will influence this work from the perspective of the employee experience, with a central aim to “improve employee experience” across the many areas this mission touches. ∙ Baris Yakin will bring his expertise in behavioral science to influence culture and behavior across every area of the strategy, with a particular lens toward increasing DEI competency. ∙ CC Pantalone brings deep expertise in people analytics specialized in DEI and will be leading work in the Lead By Example and Empower Potential strategy goals. ∙ And Julia Chen will be supporting our BRGs and networks, helping them to advance the many ways that they build, change, and sustain our firm’s culture. Our workforce is incredibly diverse, and because of this rich diversity, we’re trying to be increasingly mindful of how we plan meetings and events as a firm. In the spirit of inspiring belonging, we encourage everyone to be more aware and respectful of the growing number of religious observances; national, state, and local holidays; and heritage celebrations that are incredibly important to our colleagues and their families when scheduling meetings. You can reference our upcoming tributes, holidays, observances, and celebrations section and add these holidays and others to your Outlook calendar. At Booz Allen, everyone deserves to feel seen, connected, supported, and proud of who they are and where they work. Honoring personal time away from work is one small but very important way each of us can show up for our colleagues. Shining a light on the diversity of our workforce is a part of what we hope to accomplish with this magazine. Finally, I am proud to report that this magazine is already award winning—the Unstoppable Together Magazine received a Platinum Award for Internal Magazine Employee Publication from the 2021 MarCom Awards. This international creative competition recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals, with MarCom’s Platinum Award going to the top 17 percent of applicants. We will strive to continue to live up to this achievement, and we hope you will continue to read along with us. Sincerely, CONTRIBUTORS Jon G.
